Desktop Publishing (DTP) is an important part of localization. In general, DTP refers to computerized text editing, page layout design, and graph and image processing as well as type-setting that can meet publishing requirements. However, in the field of localization, DTP refers to creation of new layout based on the original documents of certain language (like manual, catalogue and leaflet, etc.) into another language or multi-lingual versions. Publishing now is no longer limited to paper media only, but extended to wider media forms, including CD-ROM, Internet, and other electronic media.
